2026 BIAW Support Group Summit
BIAW and UW-EC Speech Language and Hearing Sciences Department co-hosted the 5th Annual State Support Group Summit on October 24th. A big THANK YOU to Alicia from the Epilepsy Foundation, Kristin from NAMI Chippewa Valley, Karen from Aurora BayCare and Debra from Emplify Health by Bellin for talking more about what your support groups offer and are up to. Special thanks to the SLHS students for your help in hosting and facilitating our survivors, family members and professionals of brain injury this year and to Audrey Nelson for sharing her 45 year recovery story! In our Caregiver Connection, we brainstormed, shared resources and time with the ‘people that truly understand.’ Brain Injury Recovery is truly ‘give and take’, a ‘no judgement-zone’ and ‘sharing ideas and energy’.
