Community Resources - Independent Living Centers (in WI)

Independent Living Centers (ILCs) offer a variety of community-based independent living services for persons with disabilities.  Services may include advocacy, information and referral, peer counseling, independent living skills training, housing referral and assistance, and referral to transportation and personal assistance services.   They may host recreational outings and summer camps.  The centers are not residential facilities.  At least 51% of the staff and board members who operate the centers are people with disabilities.
